What the medical fitness test involves
The test is short: a blood sample and a chest X-ray, carried out at an approved medical fitness centre. It screens for a defined set of communicable conditions specified by the health authority. There is no general health examination and no fasting requirement.
Results are issued electronically to the immigration system, usually within a few working days. Standard, express and VIP processing speeds are available at different government fees — we will tell you what each costs and which makes sense for your timeline.

Practical notes before you go
Bring your original passport, a copy of the entry permit or visa, a passport photograph and the medical application printout. Women who are pregnant should inform the centre on arrival, as the X-ray procedure is adjusted. Arrive at the start of your slot — centres run on queue numbers and a late arrival usually means returning another day.
If a result requires further review by the health authority, that is handled directly between the centre and the authority. We will explain the position and what, if anything, you need to do.
